Stories in the corona virus season have too much to tell. In
this series of videos we would like to be a storyteller, retelling remarkable
stories from around the world at a time when humanity is experiencing the
corona virus disaster is very difficult and dangerous. This video tells two
stories: the first is the story of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and
Isolation story of reporter Kike Mateu infected with corona virus.
1. When the Germans call their female prime minister Mutti.
The German people cordially called their chancellor
"Mutti," the German word for "Mother." She usually wears
dark blue pant suits that are familiar to her eyes.
Chancellor Angela Merkel has often appealed to the morale
and discipline of its citizens to slow the spread of the virus, according to
her, scientific data does not deceive us.
Recently the image of the 65-year-old prime minister
shopping at a local supermarket to buy food, wine and toilet paper for her
grandparents' apartment in Berlin has been widely spread on social media. Her
work is normal, but bears a reassuring sign of calm leadership during a global
crisis due to the corona virus.
Chancellor Merkel has led Germany for more than 14 years and
with more than a decade of experience dealing with the crisis. She assured the
Germans during the 2008 financial crisis that their savings were safe. She led
a tough response to the eurozone debt crisis, then took the initiative at first
welcoming immigrants in 2015 despite domestic controversy.
Her response to the COVID-19 pandemic was fairly stable, a
poll on Friday by ZDF Television shows that 89% of Germans think the government
has responded well.
Experts attributed the success of Germany in part to its
extensive and early testing of the virus. But Merkel advised cautiously and
said it was too early to declare victory over the epidemic, adding that
"now is not the time to talk about reducing restraints."
It is said that she prepared for a huge work of saving
Germany and Europe, at least she had the support of the people. Even opposition
politicians must praise her.
Although Germany has the third largest number of infections
in Europe with 57,695 people, according to John Hopkins University, Germany has
seen only 433 deaths, making it the sixth largest in Europe, after Italy, Spanish,
French, English and even Dutch.
Many Germans have said that we must be so happy that we have
a prime minister like Angela Merkel at the moment.
The leaders of the country need certain qualities to create
peace of mind in the public, which is important in the time of crisis caused by
corona virus as now.
About biography of Angela Merkel:
Angela Dorothea Merkel was born 17 July 1954. She is a
German politician serving as the chancellor of Germany since 2005. She served
as the leader of the centre-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) from 2000 to
2018. Merkel has been widely described as the de facto leader of the European
Union, the most powerful woman in the world, and by some commentators as the
"leader of the free world".
2. Isolation story of reporter Kike Mateu infected with
corona virus.
Kike Mateu is a familiar face to football fans in Spain. He
is a familiar face of the famous football show that is broadcast every night in
the country of the Gaur in the sports program El Chireduito de Jugones.
He was even more famous after he was exposed to the corona
virus in Milan attending the press conference between Atalanta and Valencia in
the first leg of the 1/8 Champions League round on February 19.
Kike Mateu's business trip in Northern Italy is like any
trip he has gone through. At that time, only three cases were positive for
Covid-19 in Italy.
When he finished his work, Kike Mateu returned to a small
town in Milan, before flying back to Valencia the next day.
However, on Monday afternoon, Kike Mateu started feeling the
first symptoms of corona virus such as flu, fatigue, dry cough. When he came
back from Milan he thought it was important to check if he was infected with
corona virus. Kike Mateu asked the medical staff to come and check. But they
never show up. And when in a state of bewilderment, Kike Mateu tried to isolate
himself indoors, along with his wife and son.
Kike Mateu called the emergency number again, emphasizing to
the other party that he had just returned from Milan. But his request could not
be resolved because the emergency number was actually congested due to too many
calls.
However, after another 24 delays, Kike Mateu was unable to
gamble his life for the emergency number. Kike Mateu decided to go to the
private clinic.
Here, he was tested and until 4:30 the next morning, Kike
Mateu was identified with corona virus infection. After receiving the shocking
information, Kike Mateu contacted people he had been in contact since when he
was in Milan, to warn the situation. And then he was isolated.
He had to stay in an isolated room without any information
on the outside situation and no one came to visit me for 9 days.
However, he remained calm and always wanted to send a
message to all the people out there that they should not be bewildered. Because
if accidentally infected, they can also be cured.
The World Health Organization has recommended that:
"All efforts to prevent and prevent coroan virus will save lives. We must
join hands to make efforts to prevent corona virus from spreading to the
community. ”
He was then cured, his recovery, ringing the bell of hope
for those infected with the corona virus. Isolation is really necessary and is
important in the process of curing corona virus.
Recommendations to know about corona virus:
Most people who get sick with COVID-19 will have only mild
illness and should recover at home. Care at home can help stop the spread of
COVID-19 and help protect people who are at risk for getting seriously ill from
COVID-19.
COVID-19 spreads between people who are in close contact
(within about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected
person coughs or sneezes.
If you are caring for someone at home, monitor for emergency
signs, prevent the spread of germs, treat symptoms, and carefully consider when
to end home isolation.
*Note: Older adults and people of any age with certain
serious underlying medical conditions like lung disease, heart disease, or
diabetes are at higher risk for developing more serious complications from
COVID-19 illness and should seek care as soon as symptoms start.
Hopefully the two stories above will give you some
experience on the multifaceted aspects of how the corona virus epidemic affects
human life.
